More About My Golf Journey
My past and current results show that I have a lot of work ahead of me. Up until last year, I was not truly invested in my golf game. To be candid, I was playing because I thought I had to, not because I wanted to. I remember a conversation with my coach, Anders Mattson, where he told me I needed to decide the kind of golfer I wanted to be. Did I want to play for fun, compete at a lower level, or did I want to commit and work toward playing at a higher level? I realized I wanted to compete at a higher level, but I knew it would take a lot of hard work. That was when I decided I wanted more from myself and from the game. I came up with a practice plan and schedule that I enjoyed. I became the one to ask my parents to take me to the course to practice, instead of them begging me to go. I started to see an improvement in my game over the summer and went from shooting in the 90’s to breaking 80 for the first time. I can finally say that my drive to improve is coming directly from me. I have become a more confident golfer and my desire to improve keeps increasing. I am certain that if I continue to work hard, I will achieve my goal of playing at the collegiate level. I look forward to the competition, having fun, and seeing myself get better.
